Golf Cart Safety: Prepare the Vehicle, Passengers and Route
Use the manual, designated seating and permitted routes as the foundation for a safer trip.

Make golf cart safety part of every trip by preparing the vehicle, passengers and route. Follow the manual and the operating requirements for your location.
Begin before anyone gets in
Follow the vehicle manual’s pre-use checks. Inspect for visible damage and confirm normal operation of the controls, brakes and required equipment. Resolve concerns before driving rather than using a trip to test a suspected fault. Ask the dealer to demonstrate unfamiliar controls and identify the operating limits during delivery.
All Coala models are LSV certified, including for California. Certification does not eliminate the need for careful operation or compliance with state and local road-use requirements.
Give every passenger a designated position
Use the provided seats and restraints according to the vehicle instructions. Do not carry extra passengers in a cargo bed or other undesignated area. Keep the vehicle within its stated passenger and load limits. Ask about any passenger-specific requirements that apply before a trip, especially when planning travel with children.
Choose an appropriate route
Check that the complete route is permitted for your vehicle, including connecting roads and crossings. Follow applicable traffic rules, avoid distraction and adapt operation to visibility, surfaces and surrounding traffic. Do not assume that another driver sees a small vehicle simply because its lights are on.
For a Utility cart, secure cargo using approved arrangements and keep it within the documented limits. Review the Utility selection guide before choosing a work configuration.
What if something feels wrong while driving?
Stop safely and arrange assistance. Contact your dealer or support with a description of the concern rather than continuing to use a vehicle with a suspected safety issue.
