Lithium Golf Cart Battery Guide: What to Compare Before Buying
Read voltage, amp-hours, charger compatibility and warranty together when comparing lithium-powered carts.

Compare lithium golf cart batteries by voltage, capacity, charger compatibility and support. A useful comparison considers the battery and vehicle together.
Read the complete battery specification
Voltage and amp-hours describe different aspects of a battery. Comparing amp-hours alone can be misleading when two packs have different voltages. For a rough nominal energy comparison, multiply volts by amp-hours and divide by 1,000 to obtain kilowatt-hours. This calculation does not establish usable energy or driving range; those require information about the complete vehicle and operating conditions.
Use the published specification for the model you are considering. Do not assume every cart in a lineup has the same battery simply because the bodywork or seating looks similar.
Ask about the pack and charger together
Before buying, identify the installed battery and the charger supplied with it. Request the charging instructions, storage guidance and temperature limits for that exact equipment. Ask your dealer to demonstrate connection, normal charging indicators and what to do if a fault appears. A connector that fits is not proof that a different charger is compatible.
Plan for long-term support
Request the battery warranty and replacement process in writing. Find out who diagnoses an issue, what information they need and how transport or labor is handled. Keep the battery identification and purchase documents with your ownership records.
Does a larger battery guarantee a particular range?
No. Treat capacity as one comparison point. Read our range guide and battery-life guide, then discuss your route with a dealer.
